2017 Sponsorship Opportunities
Corporate Sponsors play a significant role in the success of our special events, from benefit dinners to horse shows. Riverwood works with Corporate Sponsors to customize their involvement in order to best meet the corporations’ specific philanthropic, marketing and employee interests and involvement needs. This year, there are opportunities to sponsor our Spring Fling Horse Show, Community Care Luncheon, and Boots and Brews. There are levels of sponsorship achievable for businesses and corporations of any size, ranging from $250-$7,500.
Mobile Education Outreach (MEO)
The MEO horse trailer, which has been renovated to look like the inside of the barn, carries 2 miniature horses, and houses interactive and educational activities for children and adults. It truly allows Riverwood to take our services out into the community. Additionally, the Outreach trailer provides education and awareness to the general public about equine assisted activities, disabilities and horse care. Riverwood seeks lasting partnerships with local businesses as MEO Sponsors. Together we can make a difference by better serving and meeting the need for equine assisted therapy for those with special needs.
Hearts & Hooves Giving Society
Hearts & Hooves is a group of devoted donors who are building Riverwood’s capacity to meet the growing need for equine assisted services in our community. Members make an minimum annual gift of $2,500. There is an immediate desire to sustain our student scholarship and horse care funds, which have increased in need due to growth in programming and number of students. Our goal is to raise $100,000 annually through the Hearts and Hooves Giving Society, which will be used to meet the current demand for services and to meet the growing demand for services over the next 5 years. The members of this society are truly paving the way for Riverwood’s bright future and are recognized as our sustainers.
Horse sponsorships are $1,000 per year and help offset the costs associated with equine care. Annual maintenance and care for all of our equine therapy partners costs over $22,000, therefore the need for support from our community to offset this cost is immense. We strive to have a minimum of two or three sponsors per horse. Learn more about our therapeutic horses and their sponsors here.
Rider sponsorships are $1,000 per year and help fund our therapeutic riding lessons. Riverwood is dedicated to serving the special needs population in our community. Thus, we subsidize the cost of classes for every student by 66%. Beyond this, we provide scholarships to students experiencing financial hardship. We never deny participation due to a client’s financial capacity. Student scholarships provided by generous donors help to supplement the costs of services that aren’t covered by tuition, as well as additional scholarships for some of our well deserving students.
2017 Fundraising Opportunities
Business and School Fundraising – Horseshoes of Hope
Your business or local school can play a huge role in helping Riverwood provide equine assisted therapy services to our community. Personalized horseshoes are sold for $1 each, and prizes are awarded for reaching certain levels. This program can be coordinated and customized with Riverwood to fit the needs of the organization. For instance, have an online business? We can create a web-version of Horseshoes of Hope with a PayPal button.
Individuals and Group Fundraising – Buckets and Bowls
If you enjoy hosting dinner parties, picnics, backyard barbecues, and other social events, host an evening for Riverwood! Fill your guests “bowls” with food while they fill Riverwood’s horses’ buckets! Ask your guests to donate $25 or more, which will be used to directly support our therapy horses and programs. We have special flyers and signs, so contact us if you are interested in hosting a Buckets and Bowls event!
