Harmony Ridge Farms Gift Certificate Fundraiser for Riverwood

In this spirit of giving, Harmony Ridge Farms has partnered with Riverwood to provide a gift certificate fundraiser to benefit our programs. Each certificate purchased by December 31, 2017 will entitle the recipient to $25 of Harmony Ridge products, and in exchange Harmony Ridge will make a $10 contribution to Riverwood. The gift certificates can be used to purchase products through Harmony Ridge’s farm market, 9:00-12:00 every Saturday morning at 3835 Bowens Rd. in Tobaccoville, at The Cobblestone Fall and Winter Markets as well as by appointment at our farm. Certificates will expire on May 1, 2018. Simply click here to purchase your gift certificate online. You can also purchase them in the Riverwood office and/or at Harmony Ridge!

A great gift for the holiday season, consider providing your loved ones with a gift of nutritious, sustainably grown veggies, beef, pork, eggs and duck with a gift certificate while providing Riverwood with a contribution to support our mission. The combination will make you a hit at the holidays.

Thank you for considering this unique opportunity to support Riverwood and our generous sponsor, Harmony Ridge Farms at the same time!

Volunteer Appreciation Week and Luncheon

In honor of our incredible and selfless volunteers, Riverwood will host a volunteer appreciation week during the week of December 11th-15th. Throughout the week, our volunteers can look forward to receiving scrumptious homemade cookies, hot drinks, and a special “thank you” gift from the staff and students. In addition, on Thursday, December 14th, from 11:45 AM-1:45 PM, we will be celebrating all of our amazing volunteers with a luncheon in the Riverwood classroom. The staff will put on their chef hats and bring in delicious soups and baked goods. It will be an opportunity to meet fellow volunteers and for our staff to express their heart felt appreciation for the many ways volunteer help Riverwood succeed and enrich the lives of our students. Please mark your calendar for this special week, and allow us to celebrate you.

Volunteers Needed

If you are interested in learning about horses, working with individuals with special needs and spending time outdoors, consider becoming a Riverwood volunteer! We are in need of volunteers to serve as side-walkers for our summer and year-round programs. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and attend an orientation to undergo basic safety and side-walker training. Our next orientation is Saturday, December 9 from 9:00-11:30am. Horse experience is welcomed, but not required, as you will be taught everything you need to know during orientation. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer but are unable to attend, please call the office at (336) 922-6426 or email us at info@riverwoodtrc.org – we are willing to schedule additional orientation times to accommodate you. Find out more about the impact you can make by volunteering here.

Luncheon Fundraiser

Community Care Luncheon Fundraiser

Date:            Thursday, May 3, 2018

Time:           11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Admission:   Donations requested at event

Attendees:   125-175 individuals

The annual Community Care Luncheon fundraiser benefits programs at Riverwood Therapeutic Riding Center. This event allows current members of the Riverwood family to act as “table captains”, who bring new faces to learn more about the benefits our equine assisted services for individuals with special needs.

Guests will enjoy meaningful presentations by from Riverwood students and parents that provide insight into the impact Riverwood’s program has had in their life as well as the far-reaching benefits of our program for the community at large. A delicious meal catered by Carrabba’s will be provided, and guests will be asked to make a donation in support of Riverwood at the event. This is a wonderful opportunity for members of the Riverwood family to share their enthusiasm and passion for our work with other benevolent members of the community. In turn, Riverwood develops deeper connections with current volunteers and donors, and establishes friendship with new supporters in the community. As our support system grows, our programs and outreach can too!

  • Table hosts bring 7-9 guests to fill their table
  • Guests hear from a variety of speakers, each sharing a unique perspective about the impact Riverwood’s programs make in our community
  • Visual presentation played on big screen
  • Lunch is catered by Carrabbas
  • Gourmet deserts are provided by Camino Bakery
  • Request for support is made from a board member

Each year there are many ways you can participate and help make our Luncheon a success. There are several levels of event sponsorship available, ranging from $250 – $2,500. We also need dedicated volunteers to assist with set up and clean up the day of the event. Please call us at (336) 922-6426 or Contact Us for complete information.
